I've concluded that the only downside to conventions are the days after where the realisation is that the next one is months away (in this case, six!!). However, I do consider that the rarity of the conventions are probably part of what makes the experience so special. Till then, I'll sit in a corner, surrounded by my cosplays, clutching my props and my entry bracelet to my chest, and watch all the photo's I took in a slide show while listening to anime them- (actually scrap that last bit).
As per usual, GenCon was an epic experience for me. Thinking about it though, 'as per usual' doesn't really apply as each convention is so dam unique. Thankyou to the people at GenCon (The most fun/sexy/people in the world; it's an undeniable scientifically-proven fact). My highlights would've been the cosplay competition, the gameshow, and the cosplay chess (just so much fuuuuun). Unfortunately, there wasn't as many cosplays I recognised apart from the generic (Death note, Naruto and Kingdom Hearts) however there were still some awesome costumes which made me smile:
- the Cluedo group
- The Transformer with the alternate faces?
- Sexual harassment Panda and Pedo Bear.
- Bioshock cosplayers
- Card captor Sakura
- Phoenix Wright and Gordon
- Gene Simmons
- The Umbrella Corp. guys (<3)
- The massive Super Mario group.
- The Pacman group (especially running randomly around the venue chasing each other, though, I think it would've been awesome if the ghosts were reversible so they could change blue)
I got to debut my Ellen cosplay on Saturday, I'm so happy with it, and it was so well received despite being unknown to everyone. Which was disappointing, however I surprisingly did get heaps of photo's none the less. I'd also like to take this opportunity to apologise for TRYING to pull off an Irish accent... (I had been practicing!!) I can't even pull off a German one despite being able to speak the language XD.
While I'm apologising, I might as well mention Sunday when I was told by... a passer-by that I could not pull off my costume (penelo revenant wings). As any of my friends know, I am pathetically self-conscious which made me immediately take my jacket and leave it on for the rest of the con, despite everyone telling me to take it off (Sabina <3). Thanks to everyone for their kind offers of killing the guy, and sorry that I evidently over-reacted and didn't listen to experienced/respected cosplayers rather to one opinion by a random.
Anyway, back to life... which involves two university assignments, my sister, and much less exciting people.
....Aufweiderschnitzel...
Loui. xx
P.S A friend of mine writes for a gaming website and has asked me to forward some interview type questions to cosplayers, so he can write a feature article based on the questions, his experience on Friday and photo's that we took for him on Sunday. All interest is greatly appreciated <3.
P.P.S Luke should be contained in cardboard boxes more often; for the safety and amusement of society.

Yea totally!! Wouldn't miss it. At the moment I've got Ellen from Folklore (Cloak of Dawn), Sailor Star Fighter from Sailor Moon, and possibly Penelo from Final Fantasy Tactics A2...
